Herbalist challenges 1-5 (Chapter 3)

Yarrow, the four berries, sage crafting, mushrooms for your horse and Indian tobacco crafting - Herbalist 1 to 5.

The steps

1. Pick 6 yarrow near Twin Stack Pass

   • Where: Near Twin Stack Pass, New Hanover

   You can find a lot of yarrow in New Hanover near Twin Stack Pass (between the Heartland Overflow and the Heartland Oil Fields). If your satchel is full, EAT the yarrow - it still counts.

   • Ride to Twin Stack Pass
   • Pick 6 yarrow (eat it if full)

2. Herbalist 2: raspberries first

   • Where: See the map at 2:33

   Herbalist 2: pick AND EAT 4 kinds of berry. Go to this spot first for raspberries (the video also finds some just before it).

   • Pick a raspberry

3. Blackberries

   Here you can find blackberries. Do not forget to EAT them!

4. Wintergreen berry - on the ground

   Here you will find the wintergreen berry. Unlike the other berries it grows ON THE GROUND, so look down.

   • Look at the ground

5. Last berry: evergreen huckleberry

   The last berry is here - the evergreen huckleberry. Pick it and eat it.

   • Pick an evergreen huckleberry
   • Eat it

6. Herbalist 3: pick 7+ hummingbird sage

   You must craft 7 items with sage. There is a lot of hummingbird sage here (it grows in forest areas). You need AT LEAST 7. There is more not far from the first spot.

7. Set up camp and craft horse ointment

   • Weapon or tool: Campfire crafting > Horse Care
   • Ammo or bait: 1 sage + 1 common bulrush + 1 yarrow each

   Set up camp, open crafting > HORSE CARE and craft HORSE OINTMENT. It needs 1 sage, 1 common bulrush and 1 yarrow each time. Craft 7.

8. Herbalist 4: pick 5 mushrooms

   • Where: Near Eris Field, then near Emerald Ranch

   Pick 5 mushrooms - they can all be the same kind. First spot is near Eris Field, the second near Emerald Ranch / Wallace Station (bay bolete).

   • Pick mushrooms at spot 1
   • Pick more at spot 2 until you have 5

9. Feed them to your horse

   Open the horse menu and FEED each mushroom to your horse.

   • Stand by your horse
   • Feed it the 5 mushrooms

10. Herbalist 5: pick 9+ Indian tobacco

    • Where: Near Wallace Station

    Craft 9 items using Indian tobacco - so pick 9 or more. It grows near Wallace Station, and there is more just across the path.

11. Craft potent snake oil

    • Weapon or tool: Campfire crafting > Tonics

    Set up camp and craft POTENT SNAKE OIL - it only needs one ingredient. Craft 9.
