Bandit challenges 1-10

All ten Bandit challenges, step by step: hold-ups in Valentine, the Emerald Ranch stagecoach trick, Saint Denis shop robberies, bounty, horses for Clay, train robberies, wagons for Seamus and the railroad hogtie.

The steps

Bandit 1: go to Valentine
- Where: Valentine, near the train station
To start the first Bandit challenge you need to be IN A TOWN, and you must NOT kill the person you rob. The video uses Valentine - ride to the train station side of town.
- Ride into Valentine
- Go to the street by the train station

Pick the man to rob
- Where: Valentine street (see 0:15)
The video robs the same man walking in the street in Valentine. Before you do anything, turn around and look - nobody else should be close enough to see you.
- Find a man walking on his own
- Look around - make sure nobody is watching
Watch out: Men walking around here will see you, become a WITNESS and run to the law. Wait until they have walked away.

Rob him (do NOT shoot)
- Weapon or tool: Any sidearm (just to aim - do not fire)
Hold your aim button on him with your gun out, then press the ROB button that appears. He gives you his money ("Okay, here. Christ, just take it."). Do not shoot or punch him - a dead or hurt person does not count.

Make him come back and repeat

Ride or run up and down the road until he walks back into town (he respawns). Then rob him again. Do this until the challenge says 5 of 5 townsfolk held up.

Bandit 2: ride to Emerald Ranch station
- Where: Emerald Ranch train station, Heartlands
Bandit 2 needs 2 coaches robbed. Ride to Emerald Ranch train station in the Heartlands (New Hanover).

Make the stagecoach appear: step 1
- Where: Emerald Ranch station platform
To make the stagecoach spawn, first run onto the station itself.

Now run straight up the hill behind the station and keep going until you can no longer see the station. The berry bushes at the top of the hill are far enough.

Go back - the coach is there

Head back down to the station. The stagecoach should now be parked there.

Rob the coach

You do NOT have to steal the coach - just rob it and it counts. Search it and take what is inside (the video gets repeater cartridges and canned vegetables). If you have a lock pick it is quieter, and the horses will not run off.

Coco’s tip: A lock pick keeps it quiet and the horses stay put.

(Optional) Sell the coach to Seamus, then repeat
- Where: Seamus, Emerald Ranch fence
You can still drive the coach to Seamus (the fence at Emerald Ranch) for cash. Then repeat the hill trick for the second coach.

Watch out: Seamus only buys one wagon at a time - "You need to wait for the Wagon Fence to return before selling a wagon."

Bandit 3: go to Saint Denis
- Where: Saint Denis
Bandit 3: rob the cash register in any 4 shops in ONE day. Saint Denis is best because it has the most shops to rob. The video robs: 1) the clothing store, 2) the doctor, 3) the general store, 4) the gunsmith.

Rob the doctor (store 2)
- Where: Saint Denis doctor
- Weapon or tool: Midnight's Pistol (the video's sidearm)
Go into the doctor's shop, aim at the doctor and choose ROB CASH REGISTER.

Rob the general store (store 3)
- Where: Saint Denis general store
Go to the general store and rob the cash register the same way.

Rob the gunsmith (store 4)
- Where: Saint Denis gunsmith
Go into the gunsmith. Close the doors behind you first so people outside do not see. Gunsmiths usually have guns - be ready for a fight.

Bandit 4: 3 coaches in one day
- Where: Emerald Ranch station
Back at Emerald Ranch station. Do the same hill trick as Bandit 2 three times in one day.

Bandit 5: get a $250 bounty in Valentine
- Where: Valentine
You need a $250 bounty in one state. The video finds it easier in Valentine than Saint Denis. Shoot the lawmen - your bounty seems to rise faster than shooting normal people.

- Keep going until the bounty is over $250
Watch out: The town locks down at around $265 - you cannot use the shops there until you pay it off.

Bandit 6: unlock Clay first
- Where: Clemens Cove (horse fence)
You must finish the Chapter 3 mission "Horse Flesh for Dinner" first - that unlocks Clay Davies, the horse fence at Clemens Cove.

Rob a coach and cut the horses free

The fastest way is to rob a coach. Then CUT FREE the horses from it and CALM them.

Ride each horse to Clay and sell it
- Where: Clay Davies, Clemens Cove
Ride each horse to Clay at Clemens Cove and choose SELL HORSE. Repeat until 5 horses are sold.

Bandit 7: buy a train ticket to Saint Denis
- Where: Any train station
Go to any train station and buy a ticket to Saint Denis (the ticket menu shows Riggs Station, Rhodes, Saint Denis and Annesburg).

Rob the passengers

Once the robbery starts, passengers you have not robbed in your carriage show on the radar. Aim at each one and ROB them until you have $50 in cash and valuables.

Watch out: There might be lawmen on the train - you will need to shoot them.

Bandit 8: steal 7 wagons for Seamus
- Where: Emerald Ranch
Steal and sell 7 wagons to Seamus at Emerald Ranch. This time you DO have to steal the wagons, not just rob them.

Where to find wagons
- Where: Roads around Emerald Ranch
Lots of wagons pass by Emerald Ranch - ride around the area. If you cannot find any, use the stagecoach hill trick from Bandit 2.

- Or use the station hill trick
Watch out: If a driver will not stop you may end up fighting - that adds a crime and a bounty.

Bandit 9: hogtie people at Emerald Ranch
- Where: Emerald Ranch
- Weapon or tool: Lasso
Stay in Emerald Ranch and hogtie random people. Lasso them, hogtie them, pick them up.

Put them on the railroad tracks

Carry them to the train tracks and DROP them on the tracks. Do it 3 times.

Watch out: Seamus can witness this crime - and you cannot put him on the tracks.

Bandit 10: 5 clean train robberies

You need 5 train robberies without being caught or dying. Get on a train at a station, rob 1-2 passengers straight away (you do not have to wait for it to move), then get off and get away.
- Board a train at a station
- Rob 1-2 passengers
- Get off and escape
- Repeat 5 times
Coco’s tip: You do not have to rob the whole train - 1 or 2 people is enough.
