Master Hunter challenges 1-10 (Chapter 2)

From skinning deer to the Legendary Panther: where the video hunts each animal and with what.

The steps

1. Master Hunter 1: skin 3 deer

   Easy: kill and skin 3 deer (not filmed).

   • Kill 3 deer

2. Master Hunter 2: 3 perfect rabbit pelts near Clemens Point

   • Where: Near Clemens Point (map at 0:48 - Flatneck Station, Rhodes Hall, Eris Field)

   The favourite rabbit spot is near Clemens Point - "look at all those wabbits!". Use the small-game weapon so the pelt stays perfect.

   • Ride to the field near Clemens Point
   • Kill rabbits cleanly
   • Skin until you have 3 perfect pelts

   Coco’s tip: General tip (not from the video): a varmint rifle or small game arrows keep small pelts perfect.

3. Master Hunter 3: track 10 species with binoculars

   • Where: Scarlett Meadows
   • Weapon or tool: Binoculars

   Stay in the Scarlett Meadows area. Look at each animal through your BINOCULARS and press TRACK: white-tail deer, rattlesnake, red fox, skunk, bison, turkey, pronghorn, badger, rabbit, elk.

   • Take out binoculars
   • Track 10 different animals

4. Master Hunter 4: call and clean kill 5 times

   Use CALL on an animal (pronghorn, white-tail buck), then kill it with one clean shot. Do it 5 times.

   • Press CALL
   • Kill with one clean shot
   • Repeat 5 times

5. Master Hunter 5: black bears in West Elizabeth

   • Where: Big Valley / Mount Hagen

   There are lots of black bears in West Elizabeth - easier than grizzlies. The video found them near Big Valley / Owanjila and near Mount Hagen.

   • Find a black bear
   • Kill and skin 3

6. Master Hunter 6: craft poison arrows

   • Weapon or tool: Bow
   • Ammo or bait: Poison arrows

   Kill 5 cougars with your BOW. Craft POISON arrows (fire arrows lower the pelt quality).

7. Hunt cougars at the favourite spot

   • Where: Big Valley near Black Bone Forest
   • Weapon or tool: Bow
   • Ammo or bait: Poison arrows

   The favourite cougar spot is in Big Valley near Black Bone Forest / Hawks Eye Creek. They take about 2 in-game days to respawn.

   • Ride to the spot
   • Shoot each cougar with the bow
   • Skin them (5 total)

   Watch out: Cougars attack fast - the video drops to low health.

8. Master Hunter 7: bait a herbivore

   • Where: Near Twin Stack Pass
   • Ammo or bait: Herbivore bait

   Near Twin Stack Pass / Emerald Ranch, drop HERBIVORE BAIT, crouch and stay still. Kill the herbivore that comes (a white-tail deer).

9. Use the body as bait for a predator

   • Ammo or bait: The deer carcass (or predator bait)

   Leave the deer body as bait to lure a predator (or use predator bait). Kill the predator (the video gets a red fox).

10. Master Hunter 8: 3 small fish without a rod

    Catch 3 small fish without a fishing rod - watch how the video does it at 9:58.

11. Master Hunter 9: opossum at night

    • Where: Near Lone Mule Stead
    • When: Night

    There is an opossum that spawns here AT NIGHT (near Lone Mule Stead). Kill it while it is playing dead.

12. Master Hunter 10: the Legendary Panther

    • Where: Legendary Panther territory (Bolger Glade area)
    • Weapon or tool: Springfield Rifle

    Enter the Legendary Panther territory. Sometimes he will not spawn if there are people around - ride around the area. Follow the clues: panther dung, blood, a carcass. The video uses cover scent and keeps a special miracle tonic ready.

    • Inspect the dung
